Belt was a coal town before Great Falls was much of anything, and its houses have the character — and the paint history — to prove it.
The homes tucked into Belt Creek canyon are some of the oldest we work on: wood-frame houses from the 1890s through the 1920s with original lap siding, deep window casings, and lath-and-plaster interiors. Most have a dozen layers of paint. Done right, a repaint means scraping to sound paint, feathering the edges, priming bare wood, and caulking every joint the canyon wind has opened.
Inside, plaster gets repaired rather than covered, trim gets brushed, and old wallpaper — there's usually some — gets stripped properly. We run Belt with Stockett and Sand Coulee as a route, so there's no travel charge, and we'll help you pick colors that suit the age of the house and hold up on the sunny side of the coulee.
