Every door and drawer front comes off and gets labeled. Everything is degreased — kitchen cabinets carry years of cooking film that will lift paint if it stays — then scuff-sanded, grain-filled on open-grain oak, and primed with a bonding primer made for slick surfaces. Only then does the enamel go on, sprayed in thin coats for a finish with no brush marks.
Back in the kitchen, the boxes and face frames are masked off from the counters and floors and finished to match. Hardware goes back on after a full cure.
